Dua Lipa impresses fans with 'fluent' Spanish - 'All those vacations paid off'
Dua Lipa is showing her Spanish skills off to the internet, and fans are ‘shook‘. The singer is soaking up the sun in Mexico, and speaking to the locals as she goes.
The British-Albanian music star is known for her lavish lifestyle, and her constantly being on vacation has become a running joke on the internet. Dua Lipa‘s Mexican getaway has fans seeing a different side to her, as they jokingly nicknamed her Dua Lingo.
Dua Lipa shocks fans with her Spanish skills
Showing off her gorgeous red hair in the sun in the back of the taxi, the One Kiss singer can be heard speaking to the driver in Spanish.
For those not as fluent in the language as Dua, she says: “Can we listen to the radio please? Thanks!” She then smiles and blows a kiss to the camera in the video, posted to her 88 million Instagram followers.
In the caption, she penned: “That Mexico city sunshineee.”
It came just before the 28-year-old announced her European mini-tour, where she’ll be stopping in Germany, Croatia, and France.
The video is doing the rounds on X, formerly known as Twitter, and many fans are comparing it to the Jennifer Lopez‘s speech at the 2011 AMA’s in which she won the award for Favorite Latin Music Artist, in which she said: “Mi Gente Latino.”
“Baby that Dua Lingo,” joked one fan.
“All those vacations finally paid off,” another laughed.
A third commented: “The way she stares and poses at the camera she knows she ate that lil thing.”
“Watch out Jennifer Lopez… here comes Dua Lipa,” wrote a fourth.

With all her upcoming worldwide plans, it looks like the singer has no plans to relax anytime soon, but she will be in her home country England this Summer, as she’s set to headline the iconic Glastonbury Festival.
She’ll be joined by iconic acts including Coldplay, SZA, and Shania Twain.
The five-day festival will take place from Wed, 26 Jun 2024 – Sun, 30 Jun 2024 at the regular location, Worthy Farm in southwest England.
However, those hoping to snap some tickets up to see their faves perform aren’t in any luck as tickets to the festival sold out within an hour of going on sale last November.
